Craft Boom covers bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms and backyards for people who do the work themselves. This page lays out who is behind the site, how each post gets researched, drafted and checked, and what to keep in mind before acting on one.

Who is behind Craft Boom

Evan Campbell is the pen name on every post. Behind it is one writer in California, with my wife helping on the site behind the scenes. Interior design is not my profession and I hold no contractor license, so nothing here should be read as professional advice.

From question to published post

Each post goes through 6 steps. 4 of them stay in human hands, and the 2 AI steps sit in the middle:

What stays with me

Topic. Every post starts with something readers are actively asking about on Google, Pinterest, Facebook or Instagram. Each one takes 1 distinct topic that fits the site and goes deep on it.

Research. The articles on the first 2 pages of Google results for that topic get read closely, and the useful facts are sorted section by section. Those notes decide the outline, the title and the description.

Hand check. Every flagged point gets checked by hand. Sometimes one AI is used to test the output of the other, so the figures hold up from more than one angle.

Final read. The finished post is read in full one last time before it goes live.

What the AI tools handle

First draft. An AI writing tool drafts the post from that research only, with a direct answer or a practical detail in every section.

Second AI check. A separate AI tool compares the draft with the original research notes. It flags anything that does not match, anything that needs deeper research and anything with no source behind it. Unsourced or made up claims are always cut.

A claim only stays in a Craft Boom post if it can be traced back to the research behind it. Anything a check cannot source is removed, not softened.

What the checks cover

The comparisons focus on the details that decide whether an idea works in a real room: measurements, clearances, standard sizes, materials and prices. They test the draft against its own research, which keeps errors out but is not the same as a licensed professional reviewing your project.

Before you rely on a post

  • Measure your own space. Sizes in a post are typical figures. Check your room, doorways and stairs before buying anything large.
  • Secure what can tip. Tall dressers, shelves, mirrors and TVs need anchors rated for their weight and your wall type.
  • Renting? Check your lease before drilling, painting or swapping fixtures.
  • Leave the risky parts to a pro. Electrical work, gas lines, plumbing connections, structural changes and anything that needs a permit belong to a licensed professional.

Pictures and affiliate links

Most pictures here were shared on social media and carry a 📷 credit linking to the owner. The others are AI illustrations of an idea, never presented as photos of a real room. Image rights are covered on the DMCA page.

Corrections

A wrong measurement, a discontinued product or a step that does not work deserves a fix. Email [email protected] with the page link, and the post gets checked against its research and corrected.
